The Good Night Shift Synopsis

Over the course of one bedtime, a girl celebrates the people in her community who protect and nurture her, including her caretaker grandmother, Tita, and her working mother, who is on the ER night shift. Publication is set for 2027.

Romy Natalia Goldberg, Author

Romy Natalia Goldberg was born in the Dominican Republic to a Paraguayan mom and a New Yorker dad. She has lived in 10 countries across the Americas, always maintaining a deep connection to Paraguay. She is the co-founder of Kidlit Latinx, a support group for aspiring Latinx children's book creators, and a regular contributor to the Latinx in Kidlit website. She serves as the Regional Advisor for SCBWI Brazos Valley Texas. She is the recipient of the SCBWI 2022 Stephen J. Mooser Member of the Year Award, SCBWI Cynthia Leitich Smith Mentorship Award, and Las Musas Hermana mentorship.

Isabel Roxas, Illustrator

Isabel Roxas is an author and illustrator. She loves to draw and write stories about curious misfits, young characters who defy the odds and funny animals. She has illustrated numerous books for young readers, including Let Me Finish! By Minh Lê, and YES! NO! A First Conversation about Consent by Megan Madison and Jessica Ralli (Bank Street Best Children’s Books 2023). Her debut graphic novel, The Adventures of Team Pom: Squid Happens was awarded SCBWI's Golden Kite Award.
